Безличные формы английских глаголов. Impersonal forms of English verbs

Мы часто говорим короткими предложениями типа:

Смеркается.
Идёт дождь.
Шесть часов.
Трудно вспомнить, как это было.

В этих предложениях нет того, кто или что выполняет действие. Для русского языка это вполне возможно.

В английском этот «кто» или «что» всегда должен быть. Эту роль выполняет слово it (оно, это), которое на русский не переводится.

Например, мы обсуждаем погоду, состояние природы.

It is cold. — Холодно.
It is sunny / cloudy. — Солнечно / облачно.
It's winter now. — Сейчас зима.
It won't be hot in September. — В сентябре не будет жарко.
It never rains in July here. — Здесь в июле никогда не бывает дождей.
It rains a lot in November. — В ноябре идёт много дождей.
Does it often rain? — Часто идут дожди?
It is snowing now. — Сейчас идёт снег.
Is it getting cold / warm? — Холодает / теплеет?
It's not windy here. — Здесь не ветренно.

Говорим о времени.

It's two thirty now. — Сейчас два тридцать.
Is it quarter to three? — Сейчас без пятнадцати три?
It was five p.m. when we got home. — Было пять часов вечера, когда мы пришли домой.
It wasn't twelve when we got home. — Когда мы пришли домой, было не двенадцать.
It won't be long. — Это не займёт много времени.

Высказываем своё мнение о каком-либо действии.

It's difficult to buy this book nowadays. — Сложно купить эту книгу в наши дни.
It's easy to read this novel. — Читать этот роман легко.
It's not strange for me to hear such things from him. — Мне не странно слышать от него такие вещи.
Is it possible for you to come? — Можете ли вы прийти? (досл: возможно ли для вас прийти?)
It's impossible to believe in it! — Невозможно в это поверить!

Чтобы сказать «нужно», «требуется», используем фразу it takes.

It takes me an hour to get to the office. — Мне нужен час, чтобы добраться до работы.
It takes a lot of money. — Нужно много денег.
It'll take three days. — На это понадобится три дня.

Фразы «сказали», «говорят» начинаются с they say.

They say it is going to rain tomorrow. — Говорят, завтра будет дождь.
They say eating a lot of vegetables is good for health. — Говорят, есть много овощей — полезно для здоровья.
They told me he would be back on Monday. — Мне говорили, что он вернётся в понедельник.

Можно встретить предложения, начинающиеся с one или you, которые не переводятся.

One must not smoke here. — Здесь нельзя курить.
One must study well. — Нужно хорошо учиться.
You can never tell. — Трудно сказать (никогда нельзя сказать).
You never know what questions may be asked. — Никогда не знаешь, какие вопросы могут быть заданы / о чём спросят.

Поставьте глагол в правильную форму

  1. Обычно здесь очень жарко и ветрено летом. Usually very hot and windy here in summer. (usually – обычно; very – очень; hot – жарко; windy – ветрено; here – здесь; in summer – летом)
  2. Возможно ли выучить английский быстро? possible to learn English quickly? (possible – возможно; to learn – выучить; quickly – быстро)
  3. Мне потребовалась неделя, чтобы найти эту редкую книгу. me a week to find this rare book. (week – неделя; to find – находить; rare – редкий; book – книга)
  4. Который час? – Половина десятого. What time now? – half past nine. (time – время; now – сейчас; half – половина; past – после; nine – девять)
  5. Говорят, что завтра пойдёт снег. (that) tomorrow. (to say – говорить; tomorrow – завтра)
  6. Как часто там идут дожди. How often there? (how – как; often – часто; there – там)
  7. Невозможно всё знать. impossible to know everything. (impossible – невозможно; to know – знать; everything – всё)
  8. Вчера было очень облачно. very cloudy yesterday. (very – очень; cloudy – облачно; yesterday – вчера)
  9. Прошлой зимой вообще не было снега (не шёл снег). at all last winter. (at all – вообще, совсем; last winter – прошлой зимой)
  10. Было интересно читать эту книгу. interesting to read this book. (interesting – интересно; to read – читать; book – книга)
  11. Мне нужно полчаса, чтобы добраться до университета. me half an hour to get to the university. (half an hour – полчаса; to get – добираться; university – университет)
  12. Ему сложно приходить вовремя каждый день? difficult for him to come on time every day? (difficult – сложно; to come – приходить; on time – вовремя; every – каждый; day – день)
  13. Почему в вашем доме так темно? Why so dark in your house? (why – почему; so – так, настолько; dark – темно; house – дом)
  14. Было непросто получить работу в этой компании. easy to get a job in this company. (easy – легко; to get – получить; job – работа; company – компания)
  15. Запрещено продавать алкоголь детям. sell alcohol to children. (to sell – продавать; children – дети)
  16. Для меня было странным увидеть твою сестру на той вечеринке. strange for me to see your sister at that party. (strange – странно; sister – сестра; that – тот, та; party – вечеринка)
  17. Сегодня суббота, время расслабиться. Saturday today; to relax. (Saturday – суббота; today – сегодня; to relax – расслабляться)
  18. Важно доделать эту работу как можно скорее. important to complete this work as soon as possible. (important – важно; to complete – доделать; work – работа; as soon as possible – как можно скорее)
  19. Я надеюсь, что завтра не будет холодно. I hope (that) cold tomorrow. (to hope – надеяться; cold – холодно; tomorrow – завтра)
  20. Сколько времени (как долго) вам потребовалось, чтобы найти наш дом? How long take you to find our house?. (how long – как долго; to find – находить; house – дом)
  21. Необходимо слушать этого молодого человека очень внимательно. necessary to listen to this young man very carefully. (necessary – необходимо; to listen to – слушать; young man – молодой человек; very – очень; carefully – внимательно)
  22. Сейчас без четверти 6, темнеет. quarter to six now; dark (quarter – четверть; six – шесть; dark – темно)
  23. Сейчас весна в той части страны? spring now in that part of the country? (spring – весна; now – сейчас; that – тот, та; part – часть; country – страна)
  24. Зимой никогда не идёт дождь. in winter. (in winter – зимой; never – никогда)
  25. Эту книгу было легко купить. easy to buy this book. (easy – легко; to buy – покупать; book – книга)
  26. Сейчас идёт дождь или снег? or now? (or – или; now – сейчас)
  27. Нелегко выбирать между семьёй и карьерой. easy to choose between family and career. (easy – легко; to choose – выбирать; between – между; family – семья; career – карьера)
  28. На улице (снаружи) было морозно позавчера. frosty outside the day before yesterday. (frosty – морозно; outside – на улице, снаружи; the day before yesterday – позавчера)
  29. Ещё не стемнело (не было темно), когда мы пришли домой. yet dark when we came/got home. (dark – темно; yet – ещё пока; to come home – приходить домой)
  30. От нашего дома до реки один километр. one kilometer from our house to the river. (one – один; from – от; house – дом; river – река)
